Device Data Logging / Historical Data File

Accessed from either the Device Thumbnails or the Orion Detail View, each Device has its own individual data logger that can be configured and operated independently of the system data logger as well as other devices in the system.

EnVision Data Logging Setup for Device

All available data points from the Device, whether individual loop controls as shown above, separate devices within an Orion-Mi (max of 15 loop controls and 15 monitor points) and Analog Input cards (8 t/c, mA, VDC or 6 RTD inputs), can be individually selected for logging by clicking on the checkbox next to the variable’s tagname and placing a red “check” in the box.

With data logging interval from 1 to 3600 seconds (60-minutes) per Device EnVision provides flexibility for almost any data-logging requirement.

Operator Message to File

When the Device data logger is running, EnVision allows the user to enter status messages that are saved to the data log file.  These messages allow daily events, product movement or even shift changes to be logged and tracked.  These messages are inserted into the log file with a date/time stamp so that they can be reviewed along with the historical data using EnVision’s data viewer. These messages may also be easily inserted into the data file trend plot.
