Historical Viewer Software
Historical Viewer is provided with the PR Series Touch Screen Paperless Recorders. Historical Viewer software offers additional features compared to Observer I and is backward compatible to the VR Series. Both models, VR and PR may be used at the same time with Historical Viewer.

Observer II v 2.37 is the most current release (May - 2018)
Note: Observer I v2.38, Observer II v2.37 and Observer I Historical Viewer V3.00 will work with the following VR Series firmware.
VR18 Firmware v.2.35 and earlier versions
VR06 Firmware v.2.34 and earlier versions
Observer Windows Operating System Compliance
Observer I v2.38, Observer II v2.37 and Observer I Historical Viewer (v3.00) are compliant with the following Windows Operating Systems:
--Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP, XP Pro, VISTA, Windows 7 Home & Professional (32 & 64 bit), Windows 8, 8.1 and 10.
Note:
Observer I & II versions prior to v2.33 were not validated as VISTA compliant.
Observer I & II versions prior to v2.37 were not validated as Windows 7 compliant

Reset a VR Recorder to its' factory default settings is a simple task described below and in the linked pdf file VR06-18: Rest to Factory Defualt.pdf
Press and hold the top left key prior to powering the instrument, provide power and continue to hold the key until you hear two beeps. Release the key, cycle the power off then on and instrument will boot with factory default settings.

Observer Software - April 2007: "Illegal System DLL Relocation"
DLL error - click here for sample Windows error message
This problem is caused by installation of Windows security update 925902 & 928843 directly from Microsoft via automatic updates set within a PC.
Solution: review and install as appropriate of security update 935448 from Microsoft; check the following url to review & install this security update.
