    PR Paperless Recorders

    The PR Paperless Chart Recorder models PR10, PR20 and PR30 provide intuitive operation through 4.3”, 5.6” and 12.1” TFT touch screens.  The PR10 and PR20 may include a Process Control module PC201 offering PID control including profile ramp-soak capability.

     

    PR Series Analog, Digital, Remote Inputs (Serial or TCP/IP) and Math Channels

     

    The number of direct analog inputs varies by model with the PR10/20/30 offering up to 6, 24 and 48 respectively as well as optionally External channels input via Serial or TCP/IP Modbus; maximum external channels are 24, 48 & 96 channels respectively.

     

    The PC210 PID modules support single loop profile loops with up to 4 modules may be specified in the PR10/20 with up to 8 in the PR30. More information on the PC210 PID modules here.

     

    Digital Inputs capability is available with the allowable number based upon the PR model, number of analog inputs and digital outputs specified. With the optional Plus 1 or 3 firmware, Digital Inputs may be configured as high frequency pulse inputs typically used in flow applications.

     

    Derived Math channels are standard with the PR10/20/30 offering 15, 40 & 60 derived channels respectively. Counters, Timers and Totalizing functions are optional with Plus 1 & 3 firmware.

     

    All analog, external, derived & digital inputs have a 100ms total sample rate. All analog, external and digital input channels are freely configurable and named to suit your process requirements.

     

    PR Series Display, Data Logging and Storage Memory

     

    The PR Series display real-time measured data on the touch screen and saves data to internal memory that may be exported to external USB or SD cards as well as over a LAN with the optional PR-Data Acquisition Studio software.

     

    Data logging supports operator freehand messages directly on the touch screen that may be saved with the Data files as well as the data files being started and stopped as a Batch operation with additional batch / lot information (optional).

     

    The data files as well as convenient report generation may be printed from the recorder via LAN to network printers, via its USB port directly to printers supporting PCL4 / PCL5 / PCL6 language or as pdf files.

     

    With 200MB on-board RAM for data storage and reliable low cost SD or USB cards, the PR Series is ideal for monitoring, recording and evaluating processes in a variety of applications and industries. With the optional firmware Plus 1, 2 or 3, the PR Series includes multiple additional functions including counters, totalizers, high frequency digital inputs, batch data logging, monitor and record external channels, create custom display views that support animation as well as meeting the requirements of Nadcap AMS2750F.

     

    PR Series and LAN Connectivity

     

    With LAN connection the PR Series offers emails upon alarm/event conditions, interactive web server, time synchronization and direct printing to network printers.

     

    Process Control PID Module with Profile Ramp-Soak

     

    The PR Series may be specified with one Process Control Card PC201 offering 1-loop PID control with Profile ramp-soak profiling. Ideal solution when multiple channel paperless recorder and a single PID loop control are required with benefit of all functions within one device. Refer to the PC201 control module user manual and to the PR Series Screen Views to view a sample screen.

    Note, for applications requiring multi-loop with limited number of data log channels or no match functions are required, FDC's MCT4 1/4 DIN touch screen multi-loop control with embedded data logging, LAN and other features is an ideal solution for OEMs and other applications.

    PR Series High Resolution Touch Display

     

    The PR Series high resolution 4.3", 5.6" and 12.1" touch displays provide multiple display formats, easy touch navigation and support for 19-languages allowing ease of use and setup. In addition, freehand messaging is supported with a stylus of finger directly on the touch screen that may be saved as part of the data log file.

     

    There are multiple standard display views on all models; Digital, Bar Graph, Trend / Digital and combination Digital, Bar Graph and Trend while the 12.1" PR30 also includes a circular chart view. Custom view pages including animation is optional for all models.

     

    PR30 offers Circular Chart view allowing easy replacement* for 1 to multiple legacy circular chart recorders while providing secure electronic data files. The circular chart view is configurable for a variety of time formats from 30 minutes to 4-weeks.

    PR Series Module Hardware Design

     

    The PR Series modular design supports a wide array of input/output modules with the quantity of each dependent upon model. Regardless of the quantity all are scanned every 100ms.

    • The models PR10/20/30 support up to 6, 24 & 48 analog inputs (24-bit) respectively, all supporting field calibration.
    • The number of digital input (DI), digital output (DO) and analog retransmission (AO) outputs varies by the model’s number of available card slots with each slot accepting an analog or digital I/O card with each card offering up to 6 input or output. The PR10/20/30 offer 4, 4 & 16 slots respectively.
    • The digital inputs may be configured as normal or optionally as high frequency pulse input with Plus 1 or Plus 3 optional firmware.
      • Note the PR30 has a maximum power rating of 39-watts. Refer to the PR30 price page or the excel file link here to calculate the number and type of AI, DI, DO and AO that may be combined in a PR30 model.
    • Process Control Cards (PC201) for the PR10 & PR20 provide one channel of PID control per card with up to 4 outputs. Modules support steady state and profile ramp-soak setpoint logic. Only one PC201 card per PR Recorder.
    • Security Key is provided to lock the front access door.
    • Portable Mounting option for all models.

    PR Series LAN and Communication Features

     

    The PR Series includes LAN and Serial Communications include:

    • Hardware: As standard includes Ethernet port, SD slot, 2 USB ports and optional Serial Modbus RS232/422/485.
    • Software Features: Standard features include web server for realtime monitoring and remote access, email upon alarm/event, time synchronization and print directly from PR either via directly connected printer (USB) or LAN (Ethernet) network printers.

    The data files as well as convenient report generation may be printed directly from the recorder via LAN to network printers, via its USB port directly to printers supporting PCL4 / PCL5 / PCL6 language or as a pdf.

     

     

    PR Series Firmware Options

     

    The PR Series Plus 1, 2 and 3 firmware options provide additional features and flexibility.

    • Plus1 Firmware:
      • Counters and Totalizer functions within the standard derived channels provided for the standard Math functions . The number of derived channels varies by model with the PR10/20/30 supporting up to 15, 40 & 60 respectively.
      • Digital Inputs may be configured as High Frequency pulse inputs.
      • Data log "Batch" start/stop allows custom Batch data file name, file duration,            lot number and up to 3 comments as part of the file.
      • External Channel Input: The PR Series is configurable as a Master or Slave device with the number of external channels supported varying by model; PR10/20/30 support up to 24, 48 & 96 respectively. The external channels require Modbus RTU protocol over either the standard TCP/IP Ethernet port or the optional Serial RS232/485.hild PR Paperless recorder Plus 1 firmware Panel Studio
    • Plus 2 Firmware: fdc BPR Series PR Paperless recorder Plus 2 firmware Panel Studio x Includes Panel Studio development software to design custom display views that support animation. Typically a custom display provides a graphical representation of the application including digital and analog tags and values. The custom views are in addition to the standard views. A sample custom view is shown in the sample Display Views page.
    • Plus 3 Firmware: Brainchild PR Paperless recorder Plus 1 & 2 firmware Panel Studio x Combination of Plus 1 and Plus 2 features.

    * With the optional Plus 1 or 3 firmware with CFR21 security feature enabled, the PR Series meets the requirements for electronic data acquisition for Nadcap AMS2750F .

     

     

    PC Software Historical Viewer & Optional PR-Data Acquisition Studio

     

    The standard PC Software Historical Viewer provides a Data File Viewer and Configuration utilities while the optional PR-Data Acquisition Studio software provides additional features and connectivity directly to the PR Paperless Recorders via Serial Modbus or Ethernet TCP/IP.

    • Historical Viewer PC Software (standard): PR FDC FDC PR Paperless Recorders Historical Viewer/Configuration software provides capability to view, print, export (.csv) and archive PR Series data files imported via SD or USB cards as well as create and edit unit configurations to be downloaded back to the PR recorder.
    • PR-Data Acquisition Studio Software (optional): PR Paperless Recorder Observer FDC Data Acquisition Studio and the standard Observer Historical Viewer/Configuration software are combined in the optional PR-Data Acquisition Studio software. The PR-Data Acquisition Studio provides real time access from one to multiple PR units (2,048 tags) via LAN or serial Modbus and provides data logging function within the software at the PC. This software provides allows real time viewing of standard screen views from specific PR Paperless Recorders, to download data log files as well as download/upload configuration files via the LAN

    The PR-Data Acquisition Studio, as fee based software, requires a hardware dongle inserted into one of the PC's USB drives to function. Without the hardware dongle the software may be installed and run in for 1-hour intervals connected to PR Paperless Recorders.

    The PR Paperless Recorder meets the requirements for:

    • NADCAP AMS2750F including electronic data acquisition files, accuracy and field calibration typically required for heat treating applications.

    HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points)

    The PR Paperless Recorder provides a manner to easily incorporate data logging, alarm management, LAN connectivity and more to a process utilizing HACCP protocols.

     

    JCAHO Standards TS.03.01.01 and TS.03.02.01 (Medical Tissue Storage):

    The PR Paperless Recorder embedded data logging, alarm management, LAN connectivity and operator audit trail provides an efficient and effective manner to comply with the JCAHO standards to record tissue storage temperatures. The appliance manufacturer provides the appropriate battery back-up as required.
