The FDC-2010-K5C control system offers OEM's multiple configurations to customize inputs, outputs, control configuration and Digital Inputs, 5 of which can defeat all or portion of control outputs with 5 others for remote Schedule control; remote start, stop, hold, Stage Advance & Previous Stage. Energy Management & Saving

The FDC-2010-K5C by itself does not offer specific Energy Management / Saving features or control logic. However, utilizing 3rd party energy management devices providing a digital output at a predetermined energy consumption level connected to the appropriate digital input can start & stop running schedules and/or specific outputs to better manage an operation's energy usage. Examples are described below

Start Schedule when boiler capacity is adequate: A boiler capacity measuring device (temperature and pressure) provides a digital output when there is sufficient capacity to run a Schedule on a specific Kiln. (As standard a delayed start is available after loading a Schedule but is not related to available energy.)

Defeat Heat Output when inadequate boiler capacity: A boiler capacity measuring device (temperature and pressure) provides a digital output when there is insufficient capacity to continue to run a specific Kiln. This digital input could be configured to defeat the Kiln's call for Heat thus reducing temporarily demand for steam; this temporary reduction in demand may allow other more important applications to continue to run with sufficient steam pressure or eliminate the need to temporarily start up a more expensive back-up boiler.

Defeat Fans when Electrical consumption too High: Facilities with high electrical usage with rates that increase dramatically if a predetermined consumption level is exceeded could utilize a 3rd party electrical load monitoring device whose output could turn off a Kiln's Fans and other appropriate outputs until such time excess electrical capacity was available.

The 5 digital inputs may each have any combination of "defeat" outputs allowing configurations to allow multiple energy management strategies.

How are the "defeat" Outputs configured?

Refer to OEM Configuration for details. Shown below are the Option Screens that are used to enable outputs & events either on a Manual basis or per Stage within a Schedule. In the OEM configuration any of the outputs/events may be selected to be "defeated" for the digital input being configured.
